WASHINGTON D.C. SCREENINGS:
NomadsLand hosts regular monthly
screenings of independent feature films and documentaries about crucial
social and political issues of international importance. This is a
hybrid group energized by independent film aficionados, policy makers,
activists and independent filmmakers based in the Washington D.C. area.
Screenings are sponsored by NomadsLand.com in conjunction with legendary
progressive eatery, bookstore and salon
Busboys and Poets.
Our DC screenings take place on Sunday evenings and function as "dinner
theater for people in the know." Each screening features an independent
feature film and a 30-minute panel and roundtable discussion. Filmmakers
usually join us via videoconferencing from all corners of the globe -
Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dubai, Boston so far - in order to field questions
from our live audience. Prominent DC-based panelists join our roundtable
discussion for spirited debate. Wonderful food is available.
If you are an international filmmaker,
have a social issue film and would like to be considered for an upcoming
screening in America's most influential city, please e-mail
dcscreenings@nomadsland.com.
Our newsletter reaches thousands of D.C.'s engaged citizens and most
influential policymakers and we can coordinate a great turnout for your
screening. Currently, we are planning for the 2008 calendar.
If you are a foundation, activist group, social enterprise or
non-profit and would like to plan an evening to shed light on a campaign or
issue dear to your core mission - and would like to frame it in the context
a great cinema in America's most influential city, please e-mail
dcscreenings@nomadsland.com.
