NomadsLand.com is looking for a few Washington DC-based volunteers to help strengthen our growing filmmaking collective.
DC Screenings Co-Programmer: NomadsLand is looking for someone to help coordinate booking panelists for monthly screenings at Busboys and Poets. The ideal candidate will have an interest in social issue films, contacts in the NGO/public policy circles in Washington, D.C. and have the ability to use the Internet to source such individuals. This person will also help us select films to be programmed at our screenings and on our website. (http://movies.meetup.com/432/)

This person will also help us select films to be programmed at our screenings and on our website. (http://movies.meetup.com/432/) NomadsLand is looking for individuals to program approved films in various channels on the site and seed new channels that fit in with our mission. Responsibilites include reviewing films, writing reviews in our blog and refreshing queues to keep lineups fresh. The ideal candidate will have a history of creative writing, an interest in social issue films, arthouse films, documentaries and have a track record in film, TV or video.
Blog Editor: NomadsLand is looking for someone to help coordinate a community blog in which site users can post film reviews and essays on global issues. Person will be responsible for developing a roster of "go to" bloggers and editing unsolicited submissions. The ideal candidate will have a history of creative writing, an interest in social issue films, arthouse films, documentaries and have a track record in print media or blogging.
MySpace Coordinator: NomadsLand is looking for someone to help enhance our MySpace presence (http://www.myspace.com/nomadslandfilms). The qualified candidate will have an interest in social issue films, have as well-designed MySpace page, know how to expand a network, be familiar with MySpace forums and be well versed in MySpace page design, multimedia video and audio plugins.
Facebook Coordinator: NomadsLand is looking for someone to help enhance our Facebook presence (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2291157193 ). The qualified candidate will have an interest in social issue films, know the ins and outs of Facebook forums, social networking and be able to stimulate discussions.
Orkut Coordinator: NomadsLand is looking for someone to help enhance our Orkut presence (http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=30874138) The qualified candidate will have an interest in social issue films, know the ins and outs of Orkut forums, social networking and be able to stimulate discussions.
