NomadsLand.com is busy developing it's Beta 1.0 site due to debut in early 2008. Unlike most internet startups, NomadsLand will stay self-funded for the short-term and does not plan on turning to venture capitalists in the near future. We feel that would compromise our independence and our mission. So for now, we are turning to you to launch our next generation site. BETA 1.0 FEATURES 

BETA 1.0 will be a complete revamp of our site and is currently in development. It will include the following features:

- RICH FILM PROFILES - Films will become searchable complete with metadata such as Director, Producer, Film Festivals, Release Date, Subject Tags, Community Reviews, Community Ratings, NomadsLand Ratings. Navigation to find the films you want to see and to bring viewers to see your films will become much more intuitive.

- RICH FILMMAKER PROFILES - Filmmaker profiles will become searchable complete with metadata such as Film Inventory, IMDB Database Links, Upcoming Projects, etc. 

- RICH INSTITUTION PROFILES - NomadsLand will be adding profile pages for foundations, social enterprises, non-profits, film distributors and film festivals. 

- VIRTUAL THEATER NETWORK - NomadsLand will have a "screening engine" so people in a given geographical location can join groups online and meet in the real world for screenings of documentaries and issue films. Group organizers can download films from NomadsLand on to their PC and then invite the group to a screening venue  (public places or private homes) and view the film together and discuss. 

- MULTILINGUAL AND GEOGRAPHIC NAVIGATION - Users will be able to navigate the site in most major languages and find films, filmmakers and film groups through a Google Map geographic interface.  

- MEMBERSHIP FOR AD-FREE VIEWING - Many filmmakers have expressed the desire to navigate the site without the ever present and sometimes necessary ads. Registered users will have the ability to navigate the site ad free.
